Bring the Lovin’

HIM Cold mornin, the sun ain’t up yet

Frosty mornin, the diesel starts hard

I need a gallon of truck stop coffee

To get  me rollin down the boulevard

One more day, one more six hundred

And I’ll be turnin’ around

Bring the lovin that’s in my head

Home to the lover in my bed

Seventeen days since we had that argument

Angry words and then I walked right out

I remember I was really angry, but

I don’t remember what we fought about

HER Seventeen days since we had that argument

That stubborn peckerhead went right out the door

Probly thinks he’ll just walk right back in again

Girl I love ya, don’t be mad anymore

Yeah, this big ol’ bed’s kinda empty but

I don’t have to wrestle for the covers all night

No sweaty T-shirts stinkin’ up the living room

I watch my soaps whenever I like!

HIM Nights get lonely in a roadside rest-em-up

Lot lizards keep comin’ around

I hear ‘em knocking, but ain’t gonna be no rocking

Come tomorrow I’ll be southbound

On the trailer there’s a bad wheel thumpin

Counts every minute that my gal isn’t here

On the dashboard her photograph’s bumpin

A sorry substitute for havin’ her near

One more day, one more six hundred

I’ll put that hammer down

Bring the lovin that’s in my head

Home to the lover in my bed

HER Seventeen days since he walked outta here

Sometimes he makes me wanna give up on men

I’m gonna kick his butt from here to Cumberland

If I can just stay mad until then

HIM Lonely nights, there’ll just be one more

Till I’ll be turnin’ around

HER He’s gonna turn around

HIM Bring the lovin in my head

Home to the lover in my bed

HER Lonely nights, there’ll just be one more

HIM Till I’ll be turnin’ around

HER He’s gonna turn around

HIM Bring the lovin in my head

BOTH Home to the lover in my bed

Bring the lovin

Bring the lovin
